PRODUCT PERFORMANCE — We Go Further
The world's highest air-to-air missile — the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force AIM-9X Sidewinder — flies with HR Textron missile control technologies. Our integrated fin and thrust vector control systems provide superior power density and increased maneuverability enabling the AIM-9X to make extreme turns in a fraction of a second as it pursues its target.

INNOVATIVE DESIGN SOLUTIONS — We Go Further
After the first Persian Gulf War, the U.S. Military called for an all-weather precision bomb. Integrating critical flight controls with power and communications systems, HR Textron engineers created a Tail Actuation System (TAS) to guide Boeing's Joint Direct Attack Munition (JDAM) to its target flawlessly regardless of weather or environmental conditions. Combat proven in Bosnia, Kosovo, Afghanistan and Iraq, JDAM has a 99% reliability rating.

Taking TAS further...
We successfully adaped the JDAM TAS technology to fit customer needs for the same precision guidance system on various size weapons ranging from the Small Diameter Bomb, to the MK-82, to the Massive Ordnance Air Blast (MOAB).

PRODUCTION ECONOMIES We Go Further
What began as a story of technological innovation with the JDAM TAS turned into an achievement in production capability. After September 11, 2001, HR Textron was asked to step up production of the JDAM TAS — from 500 units a month to 3,000. We quickly optimized production lines to deliver high outputs at the lowest possible cost.

HR Textron customers reap the benefits of robust corporate-wide tools and programs including Textron Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Integrated Supply Chain. Through these initiatives, we're able to drive sustainable cost reduction and invest in research and development for breakthrough technologies.

ADVANCING THE TECHNOLOGY We Go Further
For more than 50 years now, nobody has advanced actuator technology like HR Textron, or made it work so well in so many environments. Technology advancements in development include:

High-G Actuation Control — At HR Textron we're actively transferring our missile control technologies proven on U.S. Air Force and Navy missile programs to ground-launched platforms. Initial tests have demonstrated viability in harsh environments, surviving forces up to 15,000 Gs and advancing to 30,000 Gs.

UAV Actuation — From tip-to-tail, HR Textron supplies all of the control actuation systems for the experimental Boeing X-45A UCAV, the first flying vehicle with all electric controls. Our technology is also at work designing the primary flight control as well as the utility actuators for the Joint Unmanned Combat Air Systems (J-UCAS) X-45C.

Fly-by-light — HR Textron advances actuation technology with the development of photonic, fly-by-light control systems by replacing electrical wires with fiber optic technology.

CUSTOMER SERVICE We Go Further
Over the years our customers have thanked us with many awards. We're particularly proud to have earned Boeing's coveted Silver Supplier Award. Of 11,000+ suppliers, fewer than 250 have earned the Silver Supplier Award by continuously maintaining a quality rating of 99% and a 95% on-time delivery rating. Going further for our customers every day is the backbone of our success.
